Community Outreach Programs

Thanksgiving Food Drive:

Our families have worked with HomeFront for the past several years providing Thanksgiving Dinner baskets.  The list of items is determined by Home Front and then each of the classes at PM provides a specific item for the baskets. Cash donations are also collected in order to provide gift certificates for turkeys to the families.  The baskets are then assembled and delivered to HomeFront for distribution. For the past several years our families have been able to provide dinners to over 40 families.

Holiday Gift Drive

Our families have worked with local charities (DYFS and HomeFront) over the past few years to help provide holiday gifts for under-privileged children..  Last year PM families generously donated gifts for 100 children.

Martin Luther King, Jr Day / National Day of Service

To increase our school’s participation in the greater community, and to teach our children the value of giving time and service to others, this is a day where we will involve both our children and parents in activities to support a group in the greater community in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  The Committee will determine the specific service activity and recipient group.

We are always looking for ways to help those in our community. Please feel free to share your ideas and ways you think we can grow our outreach programs in the area. Your ideas are welcome and your participation is KEY.

Local Community Events

Hopewell Harvest Day

Hopewell Harvest Day is held every fall in the boro of Hopewell. We have many families, past and present, who come out to share in the wonderful community event. It is filled with food, fun, and many local vendors.  It is the perfect opportunity to share information about our school and recruit new families.  Parents are needed to work shifts at the Pennington Montessori information table during Hopewell Harvest Day.

Pennington Day

Pennington Day, held on Main Street each May, is filled with food, fun, and many local vendors.  The entire community comes out, and it is the perfect opportunity to share information about our school, and recruit new families.  Parents are needed to work shifts at the Pennington Montessori information table during Pennington Day.

Memorial Day Parade

Help organize the Pennington Montessori float for the annual Memorial Day parade through downtown Pennington – and watch our children march down Main Street!
